This Saturday morning some 300 runners will gather in Squaw Valley, California for the 37th annual Western States 100 Mile Endurance Run. Ultramarathoners, a rare but growing subset of runners known for their pain-seeking, gut-churning, masochistic endeavors (like running 100 mile races) – will have 30 hours to complete the course to win a coveted finishers belt buckle. The race winds it’s way through the Sierra Nevada Mountains on the Western States Trail ending 100 miles away in Auburn, California.

Check out the trailer for the new movie “Unbreakable: The Western States 100″ and see what the race is all about.
