October is here and it’s officially time to say goodbye to summer. We bid farewell to our favorite season and it’s glorious warmth, long days and fresh picked fruit knowing we took full advantage of the outdoors and the glorious northwest – never letting a ray of sunshine go by without sharing it with friends and family.
So, goodbye summer, till we meet again or on the other side of the equator.
We’d like to congratulate Chrissie Wellington on her amazing victory at the 2011 Ford Ironman Championships in Kona, Hawaii! Chrissie fell behind during the bike course to Caroline Steffen and went head to head with last years champion, Miranda Carafe on the run course to ultimately come out the victor of the women’s race. Finishing in an absurdly impressive 8:55:08 she also set the record for the second fastest finishing time 0n the course. With her infectious smile, steadfast attitude and enthusiasm for the sport, it’s no wonder this 4-time world champion has inspired women and girls across the globe to jump into the world of bikes, wetsuits and running.
